Before we go into detail about social circus trainings, we would like to mention 2 the classes you can take in order to become a circus teacher.
There is the BIC (counselor in circus arts) and the FP (formation pédagogique des arts de cirque). The BIC-training is a collaboration between insurence and the circus Center. More information can be found HERE. For the FP training you can find more information on the website of the Circus center and on the website of Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles.
During the social BIC training is the intention to continue with circus for vulnerable groups in the broad sense of the word.
The participants of this program have preferably already been trained as circus teacher and show great interest in working with vulnerable groups.
In this course you will get tips on how to get started with various vulnerable groups and to be responsive to everyone's needs. In addition, we pay attention to "difficult" situations and how best to deal with and react to those.
You will also learn from each other! Participants of this training may have already participated to social circus projects, which will allow you to exchange experiences and discuss concrete situations with each other.
To date, this course has been offered 1 time. For further information contact Peter of the Circus Center.
En Francais You can go to Ecole de Cirque de Bruxelles(http://www.ecbru.be/accueil/formations-professionnelles/) for 2 programs that target their focus on social circus. On the one hand there is the "Formation en handicirque' that focuses exclusively on children, youth and adults with a mental disability. On the other hand, there is 'Formation continue en cirque social', which highlights the importance of inclusive circus and how a personal counselor responds best to the needs of the child.
